Ellie has had a big week! She is now completely on puppy kibble—no more mush! She has been playing down in the grass and loving it! She went to her first outing, my daughter’s soccer game (that’s them in the background). She was the hit of the night, everybody loved her and wanted to hold her. She did very well walking on leash using a nice soft harness. But she also did really well without the leash, staying close by everywhere I went. She is responding to the call “Puppy, puppy, puppy!” and comes running up to us eager to be scooped up and cuddled. She is an absolute joy to be able to have around. And truly a Gor-Gee-Ous pup!

Ruby Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Puppy

July 7, 2010 - 8 weeks

Ellie has begun her crate training and is doing great! She has only had 1 accident. She is quite comfortable napping in her carte, eating her meals in her crate, and overnight, sleeping in her crate. She can already go 4 hours! We’ve got two more weeks to add 3 more hours to that so she can go midnight to 7 am (and then I can sleep LOL)

Our biggest event this week was fourth of July. We had a small house party with friends and family over. Apparently we aren’t as interesting as puppies, so Ellie and her “littermates” were the hit of the party, not us! Everybody just loved snuggling up with the pups, and Ellie loved snuggling back.

When it was “firework” time in the backyard, all the pups crated up. Ellie and all of them did really well. The pops and bursts weren’t terribly loud like real fireworks, but it’s still a new unusual thing to hear. Ellie just layed down and napped, no problem, along with her “littermates”.

I’ve been real proud of progress Ellie has made so far. She is shaping up to be a wonderful, quality forever life companion for her family.

Well, everyone here at Cavaliers of Fairhaven, hopes all of you had plenty of “Tail-Wagon” fun over the fourth of July holiday. We certainly did!
