June 21, 2010 - Five Weeks

Today all the pups got their first real bath! I filled the big laundry tub with just about an inch of sudsy water, then set them in and lathered them up. Then it was over to the bathroom sink where I rinsed them  off and “wrung” them out. (The  puppies fit into the bathroom sink!!—LOL—not for long!) After, all the pups just looked so cute all wrapped up in their towels I had to make that this week’s photo. I dried the pups off with a towel and “spritzed” them all up. Ohhh, they all smelled so nice! Of course that won’t last and ssoon they’ll need another bath! The pups all layed out together on the back deck to dry off. (Yes, going out on the deck to be outside is new too!) All the pups played around (after getting over the shock of getting all cleaned up—LOL) The pups all just kind of sat still, stunned for a little while as they worked on getting over just being bathed. As I’ve said, all things new are always a “situation” to a puppy!

The pups were also introduced to mush today, which is ground bits of puppy food in their milk. I also have two bowls of their food dry sitting out for them to taste and try. The pups all seem to say, “What? Texture? Oh-oh, we have ourselves a situation!” Oh they’re all so cute and brave, aren’t they??

I also doubled the size of their pen and gave them a crate (with no door) with a towel inside to snuggle all together in to help them get used to a crate, placed puppy pads inside to help them get used to pottying in a specific spot to keep their pen clean. And moms only visit morning and evenings with the pups now. It’s already time to start weaning, I can hardly believe it! And it’s been a week full of first’s and successes for all these sweet little muffins.

June 28, 2010 - Six Weeks

This week I thought I’d give you some information regarding each little pup. So below you will find 4 shots for each pup: Front, Both side views, and a Top view, all to show off their markings, followed by a little narrative about that specific pup. The pups have moved on from puppy mush to kibble now and today they got their first shots today. All of them were brave little troopers. Now they will be able to go down in the grass to play and run and really have fun. This is a favorite time for our family as the pups are so fun to frolic with and watch as they roll and tumble with one another!

This little girl is very sweet but also can be rambunctious and fun. She loves to follow your feet and try to take your socks off or untie your shoes. She is very lovable.

This little girl loves to cuddle into your neck. She is usually very quiet but can be playful and fun. She is positively adorable, a heart melter to be sure!

This little girl is the biggest female, but she is quiet, too. She likes to nibble on our toes. She loves to be held and when you put her down she has a cute little scamper. She has a pouty-face—easy to fall in with.

This little girl is the smallest female, but what a go-getter! Playful and fun. Loves to tumble and roll. But also loves to cuddle too, She’ll talk to you with a little growly rumble —so cute!

This little boy is very sweet and quiet. He loves to snuggle with his littermates and us too. He is playful and always looking for a warm spot to curl up. He’s a nibbler of toes and undoer of shoe laces. He’s so adorable.

This little is the biggest male. He is very lovable and cuddly. He always comes to us and if we are sitting into our laps he crawls. He is a fun, content little guy with a unique expression that is very endearing.

This little boy is a go-getter, ready to play. He loves to snuggle up but loves a good tousle too! His face is smooshy and lovable, a truly adorable fellow.

This little boy is the smallest male. He is cute and sweet and lovable. He is playful and likes to follow at our heels. He loves to tuck into our necks. He’s a quiet little guy who can easily steal your heart.

July 5, 2010 - Seven Weeks

This week is another big milestone—Time to start crate training! This is a big task for me and a huge adjustment for the pups. It is the first time they are separated from each other. Although they are all in the same room they each have their own crate with just enough room for them to stand, turn, and rest comfortably. They now will begin eating in their crates, too, which will help them slow down on eating since they will no longer be competing to eat. At first, the pups are not too happy about this new arrangement, but in a few days their crates will become a familiar, restful, place and being fed in the crate helps reinforce the idea that it is a good place to be. Of course during the day they get to go outside and play and that is always very fun. I hope you enjoy these new fun pictures. They all just look so cute!

FAMILY UPDATES

Oliver & Family

Previously known as “Cage”

“Oliver is the greatest, busiest, funniest boy ever! We are all in love with him, Lucy included. He's confident and energetic and plays all day and night. He still curls up on my neck to sleep at night, he moves when he gets too hot. He passed level 1 dog school at the Humane Society. He's a smart guy! We'll stop by and visit you this spring or summer.” Thank you again for Oliver… Jacqueline, Ace, James, Lucy and Oliver

Journey is a dream.  While he may still have an accident here and there (he is a puppy) it is absolutely amazing to us that he has never cried once while in his cage/crate during the night in the first 3 weeks we have had him.

Lights out at 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. it’s rise and shine…..and not one word.

Our biggest worry was the thought of sleepless nights dealing with a puppy…..not this little stud!

 Thanks again,

Joleyn, Tim and Kyndra

Piper is doing fantastic in her new home with Carol and is now getting ready to welcome a new brother into her pack. A boy from Angela’s current litter will be joining them in February. Piper is so excited she can hardly wait! Here are some updated photos of Piper Carol was happy kind enough to share with us!

Moe is great! We took him to the vet and everything checked out great as I knew it would. He has blended right into our family and is doing great with potty training (very few mistakes)

Blake

The night went amazingly.....she slept all the way through it!  I got up at 6:30 and noticed she was a tiny bit wet.  She did poop and pee outside right away though.  I must have caught her just in time!  Thanks again,  we love her so much already!!
